Meet the Founder

The person behind the pot.

Omowonuola Damilola Talabi

Ekó Café began with a simple idea: to bring the bold, vibrant flavours of Nigerian food to London, the way they are meant to be enjoyed. Founded by Omowonuola Damilola Talabi in 2020, Ekó Café has grown from that idea into a trusted catering service known for authentic Nigerian dishes and contemporary small chops.

The name “Ekó”, the traditional name for Lagos, reflects the heart of the brand: the warmth, energy and generosity of Nigerian hospitality.

Under her leadership, Ekó Café offers food deliveries, event catering and a nationwide small chops postal service, so that families and friends across the UK can share a taste of home. Whether it’s a birthday, wedding, corporate event or a quiet night in, every platter is prepared with care, quality ingredients and attention to detail.

For Omowonuola, food is more than a meal. It is a way to bring people together, celebrate culture and create lasting memories. That belief continues to guide everything Ekó Café does.
